Qualifier four had much in store for a solo angler from Mother's past. Postspawn fishn' left just seven teams wishn' for a bite on the final cast. One hundred and six was the tally today, as two hundred twenty seven was the final weigh. The eggs have been laid and hatchlings about, the lifecycle of our Mother directing several team enroute. Point champs are near, so have no fear, of a simple green fish with scales. The ones at the tub are the fish to love, rather than the stories of escaping whales. So the story goes...
Joe Engler and and his son Brian holding the first place sack of 18.57lbs. These green fish a result of some fantastic topwater fishing and later slowing down with a worm. The fusebox went crazy in Joe's little electric only boat shutting him down before noon! Hiding out under the bridge the rest of the day caring for his catch, he critiqued the two spot "trolls" below after each fish went into the box. A return today of a carried over 15# pot, big bass of 5.25lbs for an electrical repair total of.. WOW... $1010 !!!! Can any $60 entry beat that!????
The "troll" team utilizing the anchor rule to their favor waved off the rest of the approaching field crossing Mother in the morning. Brian Gnagey and Bob Buzzbait Smith sat steady all day as fish transitioned to deeper waters. Slow working Cobra plastics about the pilings their second place weight of 15.32lbs returned $360 and a new nickname! Great job fellas on a "rock" solid bag of 3lbrs.
Was it the shirt, the hat or just simply Bucks' superior fishn' performance! "Buck" and "Toad" Galewood jumping back on top with a finessed limit of 13.71lbs putting them into wood and $280. these two have been kinda quiet this year, but today toad was getting pretty loud at the weigh-in! Awesome job guys, put a flippn' stick with that bag and you might make it up a few spots!!! :)
