SEEKING SOME SPARK OF RESPONSIBILITY IN MY LIFE AT THE RIPE AGE OF 20, MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WALKED INTO THE MOST WONDERFUL BIT OF FATE AT THE CLEVELAND ANIMAL PROTECTIVE LEAGUE. AFTER A SHORT WALK ......
and running through names with the alphabet, "Jordan Justice" was born unto us. Jordan, for the way he peed like the river and Justice, for what he was to bring to our life. A marriage, a house, two kids and five boats later, "justice" isn't even the word to describe it. The way this animal has touched our lives can not be described. He was our first child, my partner and quickly becoming our two sons' best friend. His adventures through my angling quest is how I will most always remember him. From wading the Colorado river to making 65 mph runs accross Lake Cumberland in the middle of the night - he has always been by my side. The best memories though are he and I becoming one, tuned into the spiritual presence at LaDue Reservoir. With a twitch of his tail or a point of the nose, he would give me the nod for every fish boated. Always in the middle of what was going on, the lessons of getting hooked almost every year seemed to fade as the next bass came closer to the side of the boat. So many times he spoke to me. The last he spoke was clear. Before even knowing it was cancer he looked me in the eye last Monday and let me know his fate. Whether his promise to go on his own is only wishful thinking on my part, is yet to remain seen. We have given him to the weekend, in which our decision has been made. Too much love and too many good memories exist to see the inevitable suffering occur. Jordan... we thank you our friend. You have given to us a gift of life that we will carry with us forever.
Peace be with you.
